About
I came to NYC from Virginia in the 1990’s after graduating from college with a BFA in illustration. I was lucky enough to land a job at Tower Records, as a display artist. It was not only an epic way to experience the lower east side but at Tower I developed a foundation of skills that has carried me through the rest of my career. We created displays and advertising in a traditional studio - projecting, illustrating, sculpting and trimming displays in a process that was rapidly becoming obsolete. As computers took over the industry, I took night classes to learn the new process and began a career in print production and design that’s carried me through a variety of top design agencies for some of the most recognizable brands in the world.
I’ve continued to practice a lifelong love of painting and illustration with occassional group shows and illustration work.
As digital video became more accessible, I started to learn the film making process. At first it was in an effort to create narrative films, but it has lead me to working experience in nearly every aspect and level of video production, from editing, shooting and production for independent films, to PA work for television and film, including a film runner credit on the Wes Anderson film, Moonrise Kingdom. It has also led to my producing several successful films and a variety of commercial work.
The three main pursuits of graphic design, illustration and video production that I’ve developed since coming to NYC are represented here. I continue to seek new opportunities in all three and especially like it when they come together.
